Effective Date: 05/27/2018
NorthTints.Store (“we,” “our,” or “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, retain, and share personal information when you browse our website, place an order, create an account, contact us, or ask for help with a purchase.
For an order problem, please message us first at [email protected] or through our Contact Us page. We use the information you provide to review the order and work toward a resolution. Our contact-first process is explained in our Terms of Service and does not waive your legal rights or bank dispute deadlines.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide: When you order, create an account, or contact us, we collect information such as your name, email address, telephone number, billing and shipping addresses, account information, selected products and vehicle specifications, and order-related instructions.
Support and claim information: We may receive messages, photographs, videos, descriptions of damage or defects, return information, and other information you choose to send when requesting assistance. Please share only what is relevant to the issue and avoid including unrelated personal information.
Payment and fulfillment information: Payment providers process payment details. We receive information needed to administer the transaction, which may include payment status, transaction references, limited payment-method information, and verification results. Shipping providers may supply tracking, delivery, and claim information. Do not send full card numbers, security codes, bank passwords, or account login credentials by email or contact form.
Information collected through website use: Our website and service providers collect technical and usage information such as IP address, browser and device details, pages and products viewed, referral sources, approximate location or time-zone information, cookie identifiers, and interactions with the website. Security tools may also record login attempts and activity associated with suspected misuse.
Electronic Signatures & Order Acknowledgments
When you sign at checkout, we collect the signature you submit and associate it with your order and available acknowledgment records. We use these records to document your order instructions and acceptance, administer the purchase, respond to questions, and review payment disputes. Available order or website records may also include order dates, transaction references, IP addresses, and device information; we do not represent that every signature contains each of these data points.
Relevant signature and acknowledgment records may be provided to service providers administering the order and to the payment processor, acquiring bank, card issuer, or card network reviewing a dispute. These disclosures are limited to the relevant purpose and are not public publication of your signature. Signature records are subject to the security, retention, and privacy-rights provisions below. You may contact us to request a copy of the available signed order record. This explanation was added September 17, 2026 and does not retroactively establish consent or create a signature for an earlier order.
2. How We Use Information
- Process payments, prepare custom orders, arrange shipping, and maintain transaction records.
- Provide account services, order confirmations, delivery updates, and customer support.
- Investigate damaged, defective, missing, or incorrect items and administer returns, replacements, refunds, and applicable warranty claims.
- Verify transactions, prevent unauthorized activity, secure the website, and respond to payment disputes.
- Understand website usage and improve our products, website, and customer experience.
- Send marketing communications where you have provided the consent required by law, and manage unsubscribe requests.
- Meet legal, tax, accounting, and recordkeeping obligations and establish or defend legal claims.
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we process information as necessary to fulfill a contract, meet legal obligations, pursue legitimate business interests subject to your rights, or act on your consent. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it as permitted by law.
3. Order Issues, Claims & Payment Disputes
We understand that materials can be damaged in transit and that unexpected order issues may occur. Please provide your order number and a clear description of the issue so we can review the purchase and help. Photographs of the product, packaging, and shipping label can assist with this review.
For problems with a purchase you authorized, our Terms of Service require you to contact us first and give us a reasonable opportunity to assist, subject to applicable law and payment-provider rules. You do not have to delay reporting an unauthorized transaction or miss a filing deadline while we review your concern.
If an order becomes the subject of a payment dispute, we may share relevant records with the payment processor, acquiring bank, card issuer, card network, or other parties administering the dispute. These records may include:
- Order details, product descriptions, selected specifications, and the applicable terms presented at purchase.
- Relevant transaction references and available payment-verification information.
- Shipping, tracking, delivery, packaging, and fulfillment records.
- Relevant customer messages, photographs, claim details, and our responses.
- Records of refunds, returns, replacements, and proposed or completed resolutions.
We limit these disclosures to information reasonably relevant to reviewing or resolving the matter, verifying the transaction, or complying with legal requirements. A payment dispute is not automatically treated as fraud. This policy does not authorize public disclosure of customer information or remove your rights to dispute a transaction.
4. Other Sharing of Information
We share information as reasonably needed with providers that support our business, including payment processing, shipping and logistics, website hosting, security, analytics, email delivery, and marketing services. For a product or shipping claim, relevant information may also be shared with the applicable manufacturer, carrier, or insurer.
Some providers process information on our behalf; others, including banks and payment providers, may process it for their own legal or regulatory purposes under their privacy policies. External websites and embedded third-party services are governed by their own privacy notices.
We may disclose information when required by law or valid legal process, to protect customers and our business from unlawful activity, or to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims. We do not treat the filing of a good-faith complaint or payment dispute as permission to share unrelated personal information.
5. Cookies & Website Analytics
Cookies and similar technologies support functions such as shopping carts, account sessions, preferences, security, and website analytics. Analytics tools help us understand how visitors find and interact with the website. Third-party tools may collect device identifiers and browsing information when their features are used.
You can manage or delete cookies using your browser settings. Blocking cookies may affect checkout, account access, or other website functions. Where a cookie or privacy-choice control is displayed, use it to manage the options offered. Contact us if you have questions about tracking or wish to exercise an applicable privacy opt-out right.
6. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards intended to protect personal information and limit access to people and providers who need it for authorized purposes. No website, transmission, or storage system can guarantee absolute security. Please protect your account credentials and notify us if you suspect unauthorized access.
7. Retention of Information
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described here, taking into account the nature of the records, order and account needs, tax and accounting requirements, applicable claim and dispute periods, and legal obligations.
A deletion request may not require immediate removal of records that must be retained for a transaction, legal obligation, or pending dispute. We assess these requests under applicable law and delete or anonymize information when it is no longer needed, subject to lawful retention and backup requirements.
8. Your Choices & Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of your personal information; object to or restrict certain processing; withdraw consent; or opt out of certain uses or disclosures. Applicable exceptions may allow us to retain or use information for legal obligations, security, or resolving claims.
Send a request to [email protected] or use our Contact Us page. We may request reasonable information to verify your identity or authority before releasing or changing records. Do not send passwords or full payment-card details. We will handle requests within the time required by applicable law. You may also contact the appropriate privacy regulator where that right applies.
You may unsubscribe from marketing emails through the link in the email or by contacting us. Necessary order, security, and support messages may still be sent. Exercising a privacy right does not waive a payment dispute right.
9. International Processing
Our business and service providers may process information in the United States or other countries where they operate. Privacy laws may differ from those in your location. Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers, those requirements continue to apply.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may revise this policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. The current version will be posted on this page. Where required by law, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent before a material change takes effect. Revisions do not retroactively authorize a use of information that required consent we did not obtain.
11. Contact Us
For privacy questions, information requests, or order assistance, email [email protected] or use our Contact Us page. For an order-related concern, include your order number so we can locate the relevant records.
